Before officially debuting, the group will hold a special performance event called "TUIDE EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW [PLAYGROUND]" on August 1 and 2 at Layer Studio 11, Mapo District, Seoul (Korea).
This is considered a rare strategy in Kpop when a group that has not officially debuted has performed all the songs from their debut album in front of the audience. According to the management unit ABD - the new record label under HYBE Music Group - the event will bring opportunities for fans to experience music and discover new groups before their debut.
Representatives of ABD said that "PLAYGROUND" is organized with the desire to bring a feeling of suspense and excitement when the audience is the first to witness TUIDE's journey of beginning.
Currently, HYBE has not yet announced the official debut date as well as full profiles and images of the seven members. Keeping the information secret but still opening the stage to perform first has increased fans' curiosity about the concept, music style and performance ability of the group.
The name TUIDE is inspired by the English phrase "Tune the tide", expressing the ambition not only to keep up but also to contribute to shaping cultural trends on a global scale. Currently, TUIDE is a junior of BTS in the managing company.
One of the factors that makes the project highly anticipated is the participation of Han Sung Soo in the role of overall supervisor. This famous producer has contributed to the success of many groups such as SEVENTEEN, After School, IZ*ONE and TWS.
Previously, in May, ABD revealed some members of TUIDE through a video introduction. In particular, Seoyeon - the younger sister of TWICE leader Jihyo, born in 2008 - quickly became the focus of attention. Her appearance raised many expectations for the debut of the new girl group under the roof of HYBE.
Choosing to organize a pre-debut introduction stage is considered a bold step in the context of a fiercely competitive Kpop market. Instead of just releasing teasers or promotional images, HYBE lets the audience directly experience the group's music, thereby creating a word-of-mouth effect before the official release.
