Meritorious Artist Kim Tuyen shared that Hai Tho is a woman who is united in her husband and children, rich in sacrifice and good at enduring to protect her family. That is also what the actress likes most about her role.
She believes that every family has its own problems, almost the people of the coastal area have helped the family since childhood, it is normal for Dai (Hai Tho's husband) to get a little hot-tempered.
Although Dai was hot-tempered, he loved his wife very much, Hai Tho knew Dai loved him very much and she was also familiar with her husband's personality, so she accepted to endure and forgive him after every time he got jealous.
However, Meritorious Artist Kim Tuyen said that she prefers to play character roles rather than the role of a determined woman like Hai Tho; she had hesitated a lot when she first read the script because she thought that the role of Hai Tho had no outstanding points, no breakthroughs. On the contrary, she likes the role of Mrs. Hau played by artist Huong Giang.
"At first, I accepted the role of Mrs. Hau - the crazy mother in the film, that was the role of Ms. Huong Giang. Because I have also played many rational roles, I want to try it once to see if I can do that role or not.
But Mr. Dien (director Nguyen Phuong Dien) said that role needed more maturity and I was not suitable. Mr. Dien still wants me to play Hai Tho. At that time, I only had two days to read the script, so I could not imagine it.
But when I heard him talk about the image of a woman, I wanted to try it. Most of all, I also want to accept roles that represent something that belongs to national identity, it belongs to the personalities of characters that I can convey cultural values to the audience, Meritorious Artist Kim Tuyen shared.
Meritorious Artist Kim Tuyen encountered many difficulties when she first started taking on the role. Partly because time was too short, partly because she was not born and raised in a countryside, so she worried that she would not have enough time to prepare for the role.
However, she believed in the choice of Director and Meritorious Artist Nguyen Phuong Dien when he thought that although she was born in the city, she still had the common features of Vietnamese women, so she decided to accept the role.
