In 2020, Park Hae Joon was "patched" by many viewers when he played an adulterous husband in the movie "The Married World". 5 years later, he regained his image on screen when he took on the role of Gwan Sik in the film When Life Is for You, the tangerine.
In the work, the actor received many compliments when he sincerely transformed into the role of a devoted husband, a father devoted to his children. In particular, at the end of his life, when Gwan Sik fell ill from cancer and had to be hospitalized for chemotherapy, Park Hae Joon showed his efforts in losing 7-8 kg to make the character on screen more realistic.
Talking about the role, Park Hae Joon said he laughed and cried with the audience when experiencing the story. For him, it is more difficult to portray Gwan Sik images than the role of an adulterous husband Tae Oh in the movie "Marriage World".
I am a certain nervous and reliever when playing a dishonest, cheating character because it allows me to act in something I dont do in real life. However, playing the role of Gwan Sik requires more because it constantly makes me reflect on myself and draw similarities with my own life.
Sharing with The Korea Times, the Korean actor confessed that during filming, he sometimes felt ashamed when thinking about his family life.
It was a role that made me wonder if I deserved to play such a character. After filming, I went home and looked at my wife, determined to treat her better. This role became a turning point in my real life, inspiring me to change and mature with the character.
Speaking more about the film When Life Is for You, Park Hae Joon said that he was attracted not by the character, but by the entire story written by Lim Sang Choon - a famous screenwriter with an in-depth storytelling style about people.
"The screenwriter's lyrics are so beautiful that I can't fully understand them. I was amazed by the perfect dialogue up to every moment. The director is equally impressive.
When I witnessed the efforts behind each scene, I realized how much passion they had put into the production process. How happy and joyful it is that the audience is excited to watch and appreciate these details - the actor said.
