Entertainment mogul hands over all inherited assets to actress's daughter-in-law

DƯƠNG HƯƠNG |

Entertainment tycoon Huong Hoa Cuong declared to let his daughter-in-law, actress Quach Bich Dinh, manage all inherited assets.

On February 25, Hong Kong (China) entertainment tycoon Huong Hoa Cuong posted a video revealing details of the inheritance division of the couple after their death.

He said he would establish a family fund, with the ownership of the fund handed over to his daughter-in-law, actress Quach Bich Dinh (Huong Ta's wife) to manage. His two sons Huong Ta and Huong Huu will receive monthly living expenses from this fund.

And the jewelry worth hundreds of millions in the hands of Huong Hoa Cuong's wife - Tran Lam - will be passed on entirely to her grandchildren.

Explaining this decision, Huong Hoa Cuong said that their two sons were "not suitable for financial management", he worried that the money given to his two sons would be defrauded by others.

As long as they don't starve to death, nothing else is needed. Doing anything is not okay," Mr. Huong said about his two sons.

In addition, Huong Hoa Cuong praised his daughter-in-law Quach Bich Dinh, commenting that she is a person who knows how to keep money, does not waste it, handles everything very satisfactorily, so they are completely assured.

Establishing a family fund, on the one hand, is to preserve assets, ensure the maturity and education of children and grandchildren; on the other hand, it is also a warning to the two sons, they cannot "lide and enjoy", otherwise even monthly living expenses would be gone.

Notably, Huong Hoa Cuong revealed that Ms. Tran Lam blocked contact with her youngest son Huong Huu. Communication with the youngest son could only be through a secretary, and both husband and wife refused to meet.

This decisive statement of the couple Huong Hoa Cuong - Tran Lam is considered the "final punishment" for Huong Huu's prolonged misconduct.

Unlike his brother Huong Ta who entered the entertainment industry, married actress Quach Bich Dinh and gained some trust from his parents; Huong Huu has been frequently involved in controversies for many years, and is considered a "rich couple" that does not reassure his parents.

However, Huong Hoa Cuong still left a ray of hope for Huong Huu. He said he would monitor further in the next 10 years, if his son knows filial piety to his parents, works hard and performs well, he and Mrs. Huong can consider amending the will, leaving him with more assets.

The entertainment "tycoon" frankly said: "The will can be made in advance, but the property cannot be divided in advance. Before division, the child is still the child; but after division, the child may become the father." These words expose the deep worries of wealthy families between property division and maintaining family affection; what they fear is not dividing money, but completely losing control after division.

Chinese media assessed that the property division and will-making plan of Huong Hoa Cuong - Tran Lam couple was very clear and tight. When the two were alive, all initiative was in their hands. Even after death, the family fund was still managed by their daughter-in-law Quach Bich Dinh, and the two sons only received monthly living expenses.

Huong Hoa Cuong believes that as long as the next generation does not invest indiscriminately, does not spend wastefully, family assets are still enough to ensure a life of unhappiness and long-term happiness.
