On the morning of March 16 (Vietnam time), the most important film award of the year - the Oscars was held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, USA. The Oscars night became a memorable milestone for Warner Bros. Discovery when this film studio won important victories at the Oscars.
The highlight of the ceremony was "One Battle After Another" - a work by director Paul Thomas Anderson, starring Leonardo DiCaprio - when the film almost overwhelmed the important categories. With a total of 13 nominations, the work won 6 golden statues, including the prestigious Best Picture award.

In the film invested with 140 million USD by director Paul Thomas Anderson, Leonardo DiCaprio plays Bob - a former member of the anti-government revolutionary movement. After past upheavals, Bob becomes a single father, living days of indulgence between alcohol and tobacco.
Life seemed to slip away in uncertainty until he received news that his daughter was kidnapped. In an old bathrobe and a faded woolen hat, Bob embarks on a dangerous journey to rescue his daughter, opening up a desperate and fierce search.
Closely following behind is "Sinners" by director Ryan Coogler. The film once attracted attention when it set a record with 16 Oscar nominations, and finally brought home 4 awards. The impressive achievements of these two works become even more noteworthy in the context that Warner Bros. Discovery is preparing to enter a major transformation phase, as this media group gets closer to the merger plan with Paramount Skydance - a company owned by producer David Ellison.
With "One Battle After Another", it also made a mark thanks to the unique approach in the production process. The film uses many amateur actors, bringing a realistic feeling to each character and setting.
Immediately after winning the actor selection category - a category that appeared for the first time in Oscar history - casting director Cassandra Kulukundis shared about the filmmaking philosophy of the crew.
According to her, inviting new faces, even those who have never been trained in acting, helps the creative process always maintain freshness. These people not only participate in acting but also play the role of "real life advisors" for the film crew, helping the details in the film become more realistic.
“If you are a soldier, you will play a soldier. If you are a nurse in prison, you will play a prison nurse. If you are a skater, you may swing on a car in Paul Thomas Anderson's movie,” Kulukundis shared.
“That's what makes it interesting. Of course, we also appreciate professional actors who are well-trained. The important thing is to maintain diversity, because life is inherently diverse," she added.
