On the morning of May 2, YTN Star reported that the lawsuits of advertisers against actor Kim Soo Hyun are expanding. This is a lawsuit seeking 2.8 billion won in damages.
According to the law, Company D filed a complaint with the Seoul Central District Court on April 25, demanding that Kim Soo Hyun and his management company Gold Medalist compensate him for about 2.8 billion won in damages.
Company D said that they will terminate Kim Soo Hyun's contract due to recent doubts and controversies surrounding the actor's private life and increasing negative public opinion.
On the afternoon of May 2, Gold Medalist responded to Osen, saying, It is not yet confirmed whether the lawsuit has been truly filed.
This statement is similar to what Gold Medalist responded to about the information that Kim Soo Hyun was sued by two companies for 3 billion won that YTN Star reported on April 29.
Previously, YTN Star said that Company A and Company B, who signed an advertising contract with Kim Soo Hyun, filed a lawsuit, demanding the model's remuneration and damages for a total of about 3 billion won.
At that time, Gold Medalist also affirmed that it was still unable to confirm information about the lawsuit.
In addition, according to YTN Star, Company C is considering terminating an advertising contract with Kim Soo Hyun due to damage to trust and filing a lawsuit to request a refund for the advertising model or contract fine.
The amount of compensation claimed for the lawsuits is expected to reach more than 10 billion won.
Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun is embroiled in controversy over his past love affair with the late actor Kim Sae Ron. He was accused of dating Kim Sae Ron from 2015 to 2021, when she was a minor.
In response, Kim Soo Hyun only admitted to dating Kim Sae Ron from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020 (about 1 year), when she was an adult.
At the same time, Kim Soo Hyun filed a lawsuit against the family of Kim Sae Ron, Kim Se Ui - the operator of YouTube channel Garosero and a person claiming to be Kim Sae Ron's aunt for defamation, demanding compensation for 12 billion won.
Recently, Gold Medalist and Kim Soo Hyun continued to supplement the lawsuit against Kim Se Ui with the accusation of violating the Law on punishing acts of harassment and monitoring.
Kim Soo Hyun's lawyer emphasized that Kim Se Ui continuously spread and repeated false information about Kim Soo Hyun - constituting the crime of harassment and monitoring.
On April 23, when the court issued a temporary ban on Kim Se Ui, this YouTuber ignored the ban and continued to spread false information about Kim Soo Hyun through his YouTube channel.
While the controversy has not yet ended, Kim Soo Hyun's career has been seriously affected. Many brands announced the suspension of cooperation and termination of ambassador contracts with the actor.
The G-Dragon-led entertainment show Good Day has cut almost all of Kim Soo Hyuns image in the final episodes. Disney+'s original film "Knock-off" was postponed indefinitely due to the controversy over the male lead.
