According to Hankyung, on April 30, law firm LKB & Partners - legal representative of actor Kim Soo Hyun and management company Gold Medalist - said: "Today, Gold Medalist and Kim Soo Hyun continue to file a complaint and sue Mr. Kim Se Ui, owner of YouTube channel Garosero, for violations of the Law on pun punishing harassment and tracking".
Previously, on April 1, Kim Soo Hyun filed a lawsuit against Mr. Kim Se Ui for continuously spreading and repeating false information about Kim Soo Hyun - constituting the crime of harassment and monitoring.
On April 23, the Seoul Central District Court issued a temporary ban on Kim Se Ui, requiring him to stop harassing Kim Soo Hyun.
However, Kim Se Ui ignored the court's ban and continued to spread false information about Kim Soo Hyun through his YouTube channel. Therefore, Kim Soo Hyun's side decided to file a supplementary lawsuit.
Kim Soo Hyun's legal representative said: "The above behavior is an act of ignoring the court's decision and can be punished with up to 2 years in prison or a fine of up to 20 million won (according to Article 20, Clause 2 of the Law on punishing harassment and monitoring).
Gold Medalist and Kim Soo Hyun quickly took additional action to file a complaint and prosecute this behavior.
Last month, controversy spread when YouTube channel Garosero announced that based on the statement of the late actor Kim Sae Ron's family, Kim Soo Hyun had been dating Kim Sae Ron since 2015, when she was only 15 years old and the two had been in a relationship for 6 years.
At a press conference on March 31, Kim Soo Hyun admitted that he dated Kim Sae Ron in the past, but only lasted about a year, from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020, when Kim Sae Ron was an adult.
Kim Soo Hyun denied the accusation of dating minors, and filed a defamation lawsuit against the family of Kim Sae Ron, Kim Se Ui - representative of YouTube channel Garosero and the person claiming to be Kim Sae Ron's aunt, demanding compensation of 12 billion won.
Meanwhile, according to YTN Star on April 28, two companies have filed lawsuits against Kim Soo Hyun and Gold Medalist, demanding the return of model remuneration and damages. The compensation claim could be up to 3 billion won.
But on April 29, Gold Medalist told Osen, "We have not yet confirmed whether the lawsuit will be filed."
