According to Box Office Vietnam - an independent box office monitoring unit, as of the morning of April 6, the work had earned nearly 50 billion VND, leading the box office. Revenue includes the first screening day (April 4) and two days before, with limited screenings.
During nearly 2 weekends (from Saturday, April 5 and Sunday morning, September 6), the film earned a total of more than 15 billion VND. On April 5 alone, the film earned more than 10 billion VND.
The film by director Bui Thac Chuyen is currently at more than 4,800 screenings nationwide, far surpassing works released on the same occasion, such ascraft (more than 1,000 screenings),am vu phu ho - A Working Man (more than 700 screenings). Previously, on the afternoon of April 2, the distributor announced that it had sold 60,000 tickets, about three times more than the 24 films currently showing at the cinema combined.
Thus, with current achievements, the film "The Earth" has no competitors at the box office, far surpassing the movie "The New Year" with a revenue of nearly 30 billion VND and 538 screenings.
According to the film crew "Tunnels", the film made about 55 billion, excluding communication costs. The context accounts for most of the investment numbers, because the crew must design many models, including the 250m long tunnel simulation tunnel. The film has many great scenes showing the size of the battle, such as the segment of tanks, armored vehicles, helicopters sweeping the territory. The project is the first domestic war film made entirely from the socialization budget.
The film is set after the Cedar Falls in 1967 - a US military campaign to destroy the Southern Liberation Army base. The scenario revolves around the guerrilla group of 21 people, led by seven (Juda Hoa) as captain. At the orders of the superior, they clung to Cu Chi to guard military equipment and medicine for field hospitals. However, only seven according to their duties are essentially protecting the area for the strategic intelligence group that transmits top -secret documents with radio waves. This responsibility made the guerrilla team fall into the survival position, when the US military positioned them.
The work reproduces wartime in the style of documentary film, with small slices with its own fate. Thai Hoa's acting is a bright spot when showing the truthful life of guerrillas in a strict situation. Actors Ho Thu Anh and Quang Tuan made a mark when transforming into brave guerrillas, good at making military weapons. The love affair between Ba Huong and Tu's characters is led with gentle rhythm, soothing the stifling situations.
