According to Nielsen Korea, the final episode of the movie "Pro Bono" recorded a rating of 10% and topped the broadcast time slot on all channels. This is also the best achievement the work has achieved since its release.
Belonging to the legal genre, interspersed with humorous elements, "Public Opinion Lawyers" tells the story of Kang David (Jung Kyung Ho) - a former judge who was trapped to receive bribes and had to turn to becoming a public opinion lawyer.
At Oh et al. law firm, David accompanies a quartet of enthusiastic lawyers: Park Ki Bbeum (So Ju Yeon), Jang Young Sil (Yoon Na Moo), Yoo Nan Hee (Seo Hye Won), Hwang Joon Woo (Kang Hyung Suk) to help vulnerable people in society.
After 12 episodes of screening, the movie "Public Lawyer" brings viewers a fresh perspective on everyday cases, from dog theft, foreign divorce, demanding justice for disabled children... to exposing the hidden corner behind the court: the owner of a large law firm linking with judges to manipulate the trial.
Throughout this journey, you can see Kang David's talent and flexible improvisation. Thanks to the experience of lawyer Kang, his colleagues also learn and mature after each case. At the end of the film, David established his own law firm and continued to work with the group of lawyers who had accompanied him before.
On screen, Jung Kyung Ho proves his real acting ability, gracefully juggling, and being in sync with his co-stars. The fact that the film focuses on legal elements, not indulging in emotional lines, is also a plus point.
Thanks to that, the film's message is conveyed more clearly, as lawyer Kang shared at the end of the film: "In this world, there are people who always lose. No matter how hard they try, they are too weak to fight against the world, and civil servant lawyers are always by their side. So, even if we lose, let's lose together.
