Short films are having more development space thanks to digital platforms, new technologies and creative playgrounds for young people.

The short film contest "Hiền tài hôm nay" has just been launched, creating a creative playground for young filmmakers and encouraging the young generation to boldly express new perspectives and thinking about cinema.

In addition to "Hiền tài hôm nay" (Today's Talent), many other short film playgrounds have recently appeared, showing an increasing interest in discovering and nurturing new talents.

In which, the "Vietnam - Vietnamese 2026" competition has entered its 3rd season. This is considered one of the young film playgrounds with great spread today, attracting a large number of filmmakers, students and content creators to participate.

In addition, the AI short film contest "Vietnamese Legends through the Lens of AI" 2026 also attracted attention when opening up a new creative space for young filmmakers to apply artificial intelligence to film storytelling. The contest focuses on exploiting historical, cultural and legendary Vietnamese topics in modern technology language.

According to Meritorious Artist Bui Nhu Lai - Rector of Hanoi University of Theater and Cinema, young people today possess many outstanding creative elements. He believes that the young generation has the ability to quickly observe social movements, thereby forming many new ideas about culture, human resources or the development of the country.

In parallel with the development of short films, many playgrounds and film competitions for young people are also continuously organized, creating a practical practice environment for students and film lovers.

Experts believe that short film competitions play the role of "creative laboratories", where young people can test ideas, experience reality and learn how to work in a competitive environment.

Meritorious Artist-Dr. Bui Nhu Lai said that film training cannot just stop at classrooms but needs practical experience spaces for students to develop creative thinking. When placed in a larger environment, young people will have the opportunity to expand their creative range and tell stories that bear the cultural and spiritual imprint of their generation.
