The historical drama "Nguyet Lan Ky Ky Ky" directed by Quach Kinh Minh has just officially scheduled to air from April 1. However, right before airing, the work attracted attention when it unexpectedly removed actor Pham The Ky's name from the list of "invited actors" in promotional publications.
According to records, in initial information, Pham The Ky was introduced to participate in a segment with a "special" role. However, in the poster and newly announced actor list, the male actor's name no longer appeared. This detail quickly became a topic of discussion on social networks.
Before the public's reaction, Pham The Ky's office spoke up and said that the actor had completed filming as a guest, and respected all media arrangements from the producer. However, this unit did not mention the possibility of being cut off the role or replaced by technology.
Notably, in the released trailer, the character played by Pham The Ky still appears with certain scenes. This makes many opinions believe that the role may still be retained in the official broadcast, but will be limited in terms of communication to avoid risks.
One of the reasons mentioned is the noise that the actor was once involved in in 2025. Although negative information was later corrected, the aftertaste of controversy could still affect the film's promotion strategy. In the context of the Chinese TV drama market increasingly tightening the management of artists' images, "reducing presence" in the media is considered a safe option.
In addition, the project also involves actress Cuc Tinh Y - who is also facing personal tax issues. This makes the producers even more cautious in controlling information, in order to limit factors that may affect the broadcasting process.
The incident also sparked debate about the rights of actors when participating in the project. Many opinions believe that removing their names from the promotion list, while the role still appears, may cause disadvantages for artists as well as create a feeling of lack of transparency with the audience.
