On the afternoon of February 3rd, the event introducing the movie directed by Mai Tai Phen, in collaboration with producer My Tam, took place in Ho Chi Minh City. Right from the time of announcement, the project received a lot of attention, especially from fans of the couple My Tam - Mai Tai Phen after many years of reuniting on the big screen.
At the event, besides introducing initial information about the project, My Tam had quite frank shares surrounding the reason for accepting to participate in the movie "Tai" as a producer. The female singer said that the decision to stick with the movie more deeply did not come from the beginning, but was the result of a process of observing and waiting for appropriate emotions.
My Tam said from the beginning that she had no intention of being a 100% producer for this movie. She just thought about participating for fun.
When Mai Tai Phen sent the first script, I didn't really like it. Then Phen spent time editing. A year later, Phen sent it back to me. At that time, I felt it was fateful, inspired, so I decided to do it," My Tam shared.
According to the female singer, caution is necessary when entering the film industry, especially in the role of standing behind the scenes.
For Mai Tai Phen, the movie "Tai" is not only a new project but also an important milestone in his career when he first took on the role of director. After many years of cherishing and editing the script, receiving a nod from My Tam is considered a great encouragement for the male actor. He said that he has been pursuing this story for a long time and always visualizes every detail in his head before bringing it to the film set.

Mai Tai Phen shared: "When I am an actor, I try to forget that I am a director to focus on the character Tai.
He also admitted that the biggest pressure is not having much time to rest, but considers this an opportunity to learn and experience.
According to information announced at the event, the movie "Tai" is expected to officially be released in theaters on March 6, 2026, instead of participating in the Tet movie race as many rumors previously predicted. My Tam said that she has never intended to release the movie in theaters during Tet, because at this time there are already many big projects, while the March 8 holiday is considered more suitable for the color and spirit of the movie.
It is known that on February 17 (ie, the 1st day of the Binh Ngo Tet), a series of Vietnamese films will be released, including projects by Truong Giang and Tran Thanh. My Tam's movie being released in theaters after more than 2 weeks is also a way to help the movie avoid competing with big names.
The movie "Tai" also marks My Tam's return to the big screen after 6 years, since the movie "My Assistant" (2019). In the new project, the female singer not only holds the role of producer, but also participates with a role. In addition, the cast also includes Hong Anh, Hanh Thuy, Sy Toan, Vinh Rau... creating expectations for a work with depth of acting.
