According to the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang province, from December 30, 2024 to January 8, 2025, Phu Quoc International Airport will have an average of more than 100 flights taking off and landing every day. Of which, over 50% are international flights, bringing tourists from European countries, America, Central Asia, Korea, Singapore, China, Thailand with about 10,000 people/day to Phu Quoc city. Room occupancy on the pearl island is about 85-90% for the 4-5 star segment, room occupancy at resorts and villas is about 70-80%.
Phu Quoc is currently in the peak international tourist season and will last until after April 2025.
Director of Kien Giang Province Department of Tourism Bui Quoc Thai said that in order to best serve tourists, the Department of Tourism requires tourism service businesses to focus on improving service quality, ensuring security, safety, fire and explosion prevention and preparing the best conditions to serve tourists.
Improve the quality of tourism products and services, design tours associated with sightseeing, experience activities, and events to attract tourists. Strengthen inspection and examination of compliance with legal regulations for organizations and individuals operating in tourism business.
Previously, on December 18, 2024, the AIDA Stella ship from Singapore docked at Duong Dong port, Phu Quoc city, bringing 2,126 tourists and 631 crew members for a visit. Local authorities said that from February 14-23, 2025, Phu Quoc is expected to continue to welcome 4 international cruise ships for sightseeing and vacation, of which one ship will stay overnight.
According to the Kien Giang Provincial Department of Tourism, in 2024, Phu Quoc City is expected to welcome about 6 million visitors, including more than 962,000 international visitors, with total revenue reaching more than VND21,000 billion. It is expected that in 2025, Phu Quoc will welcome about 7 million visitors, including 1 million international visitors.
