Billboard's Honor Roll of Hits is a celebration of outstanding artists who have excelled in their achievements and careers.
BTS' RM and V (Kim Taehyung) showed their prominence in the music industry by being inducted into the "Billboard's R&B and Hip-Hop Hall of Fame" this year.
Previously, Billboard honored this year's rap/hip-hop powerhouses by honoring artists who have earned at least one No. 1 spot on Billboard's R&B, rap songs, or album charts between August 1, 2023, and July 31, 2024.
Both Taehyung and RM are rare Asian artists listed alongside iconic and contemporary figures representing the world of R&B and hip-hop, such as Beyonce, Doja Cat, Drake, Earth, Wind & Fire, Eminem, H.E.R., Jack Harlow, Kanye West (Ye), SZA, The Weeknd, Michael Jackson, and Usher.
Last September, Taehyung released his solo album Layover, a pop-R&B album mixed with jazz and soul. Layover was voted one of the best albums of 2023 by famous international music magazines.
This year, Taehyung also topped Billboard's "R&B Digital Song Sales" chart on January 13 with his participation in "Wherever U R", becoming the first K-pop male artist to enter Billboard's "Hot R&B Songs" chart.
RM received critical acclaim for "Right Place, Wrong Person", which was listed as one of the Best Albums of 2024 by major media outlets such as Billboard, Rolling Stone, AP, and NME.
The album debuted at number one on the Top Rap Albums chart upon its release.
