According to the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, to prepare for this special event, Mr. Jean-Paul de la Fuente - Director of New7Wonders Organization - visited and surveyed the conditions on Ha Long Bay.
This is the first return visit of the representative of New7Wonders organization after 15 years of Ha Long Bay being voted as one of the 7 new natural wonders of the world.
New7Wonders is expected to organize the "Day 7 Wonders" event on July 7, 2026, in Ha Long Bay on a large scale, with the participation of ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations with representative offices in Vietnam; representatives of countries in the G20 and G7 World Wonders Network, KOLs and many international media outlets reporting on the event.
The "7 Wonders Day" event will have many promotional activities for Ha Long Bay with many visual publications, video clips... promising to bring a boom in international media for the world natural wonder Ha Long Bay in 2026 and the following years.
Along with that, New7Wonders organization will also coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and Quang Ninh province to organize a thematic workshop on the management, protection and effective exploitation of the title of one of the 7 new natural wonders of the world that the community has awarded to Ha Long Bay.
The "concept" design for "Day 7 Wonders" in Ha Long Bay has been developed by New7Wonders and will soon be completed immediately after the visit to Ha Long Bay. The content will be consulted and agreed upon with functional agencies of Vietnam and Quang Ninh province before being implemented.
The vote for 7 new natural wonders worldwide launched by New7Wonders in 2007, ended at 7 pm (GMT) on November 11, 2011 (ie 2 am on November 12, 2011 Vietnam time), with 3 rounds of voting.
Ha Long Bay has surpassed more than 400 wonders from more than 200 countries and territories to be included in the list of 28 wonders and then in the top 7 new natural wonders most voted in the world, including: Ha Long Bay, Amazon rainforest (South America), Iguazu Falls (Argentina and Brazil), Jeju Island (Korea), Komodo Park (Indonesia), Puerto Princesa underground river (Philippines), Table Mountain (South Africa).
