Recently, male singer Son Tung M-TP had an interview with Pop Genius music magazine, sharing about his recently released song "Come my way" collaborating with Tyga and the journey that has created his artistic personality today.
Son Tung M-TP introduced himself as an artist from Vietnam and has pursued music for more than 13 years. "For me, music is not only a passion but also reflects my personality. It helps me express things in my heart when words are not enough to express them," the male singer said.
According to Son Tung, "Come my way" is like his first step on the global stage in a professional way. The male singer described his journey as difficult and time-consuming.
Son Tung feels proud that he has "once again dared to step out of his comfort zone and put in all his effort to follow his own path without hesitation".
Sharing about the handshake with Tyga, Son Tung said that because Tyga is an artist with half Vietnamese blood, this project is even more meaningful.
Honestly, we have known each other for a long time and I don't remember how many times I wanted to do a project with him. Finally, everything converged this year. I really feel it was fate," Son Tung shared.
When the interviewer mentioned the collaboration between Son Tung and Snoop Dogg in the song "Hay trao cho anh" (Give it to me), the 31-year-old male singer emphasized that the opportunity to collaborate with Snoop Dogg is one of the most meaningful milestones in his career.
The affection that the audience has for "Hay trao cho anh" is also the motivation for Son Tung to seriously consider bringing his music to the world.
He shared: "The song with Snoop Dogg plays a very important role in my musical vision as well as in the current journey. It helps me realize how much I desire to bring my music career to a new level.
When asked, are there any other foreign artists or producers you want to collaborate with in the future?
Son Tung M-TP replied: "Honestly, there are many great artists around the world with whom I want to work. It's very difficult to only choose one person, but if I had to choose, I would say Lisa of Blackpink.
She is really very talented. No one can deny the achievements she has made in her music career. And there is another important reason why I want to collaborate with Lisa: we are all from Southeast Asia”.
Before the question, besides "Come my way", what song will Son Tung suggest to those who have never heard his music before, the male singer said he chose "Em cua ngay hom qua" (You of Yesterday).
For Son Tung, "Em cua ngay hom qua" is considered one of the biggest hits in his career. The song was written in 2013, when he was only 19 years old.
The song has brought that young man closer to the public, helping the audience know who Son Tung M-TP is really. The song also clearly expresses my pure love for music and my identity as an artist," Son Tung said.
