Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong newspaper, Ms. Pham Hong Tuyen, the youngest daughter of musician Pham Tuyen, said that after being cared for by doctors, his health has stabilized.
The musician was discharged from the hospital on the afternoon of September 22. "Currently, his health is stable, so the doctor discharged him because lying in the hospital is prone to cross-infection," she said.
It is known that before returning home, the musician will be vaccinated against the flu to limit the risk of infection, especially in the context that he has suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) for many years.
Speaking about the music night celebrating the 70th anniversary of the song "The Star Lantern" being postponed due to the health condition of musician Pham Tuyen, Ms. Pham Hong Tuyen said that it was a small program held in the family's living room.
However, because musician Pham Tuyen's health is currently not guaranteed, this program must be temporarily postponed and will be organized at a more appropriate time.
At the age of 97, musician Pham Tuyen no longer maintains his health as before. His travel is difficult and often requires support. Prolonged chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) also affects his communication skills, making it difficult for him to talk for a long time.
However, through recent meetings, the musician still maintains an optimistic and cheerful spirit. He especially dedicates a lot of affection to music, especially compositions associated with childhood and children.
Ms. Hong Tuyen said that on September 12, the family organized a meeting at her private residence to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the song "The Star Lantern" being born. Many children came to interact, sing and learn about the Mid-Autumn Festival compositions by musician Pham Tuyen.
Despite limited health, the musician was still very happy when the house was crowded with children. When asked if he was tired and wanted to rest, the musician just waved his hand, wanting to stay and listen to the children sing.
Musician Pham Tuyen (born in 1930) is one of the typical faces of Vietnamese music, with a fortune of nearly 700 songs, many of which are compositions associated with the childhood of many generations.
He is known for familiar songs such as "The Star Lantern", "Teen and Mother", "The Swallow of Childhood", and historical works such as "As if Uncle Ho is there on the Great Victory Day". For his contributions to the country's music scene, musician Pham Tuyen was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize for Literature and Arts in 2012.
