Toc Tien is one of the special cases of Vietnamese showbiz. Before being known as a singer, she was a specialized student in Biology at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (HCMC), achieving outstanding academic achievements in natural sciences.
In the university entrance exam, Toc Tien achieved perfect scores in Biology and was eligible to be admitted to 3 major schools including Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, University of Technology and University of Science.
According to her family's orientation, she chose to study Traditional Medicine at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, then continued to the US to study in depth with a long-term doctoral training path.
Although studying medicine, Toc Tien still maintains artistic activities. From a young age, she participated in cultural activities at the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House, learned to dance, learn to sing and participated in professional performances from the age of 13. Her family - especially her mother, wished her to complete her path to becoming a doctor before thinking about singing.
In her 6th year of studying medicine, Toc Tien decided to stop to completely switch to art. This decision once created great tension with the female singer's mother.
Toc Tien has repeatedly shared that there has been a period of deep disagreement between the two mothers and daughters, stemming from differences in life views, careers and personal relationships. However, over time, the female singer re-examined her mother's role. The two mothers and daughters gradually understood each other better.
The year 2014-2015 marked a new turning point when Toc Tien returned to Vietnam for artistic activities, creating an impression through the program The Remix. After that, she continuously released songs that were well received by the public such as "Tomorrow", "I'm Not the Only One", "Do You Love Me Like You"... gradually defining the image of a modern performing artist.
In parallel with music, Toc Tien also participates in many television programs as a judge, professional advisor and expands to the field of cinema.
Recently, at the beginning of 2024, Toc Tien participated and won the overall victory at the "Sisters Who Make Waves" program, and also achieved the highest individual score of the season.
Throughout the program, she repeatedly took on the role of team leader, leading performances with high levels of investment in ideas and staging. The competitions participated in by Toc Tien all recorded a large level of spread on the online platform.
