The death anniversary was attended by Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Ha Van Hung, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, representatives of local authorities, the Tran Van family and relatives of the late General Secretary Tran Phu.
The death anniversary of the late General Secretary Tran Phu was held solemnly. In the presence of comrade Tran Phu, the delegates expressed their remembrance and deep gratitude for the great contributions of the late General Secretary to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party.
Offering incense to commemorate the late General Secretary, the delegates pledged to join hands with the Party Committee and people of the province to join hands and unite to build the homeland of Ha Tinh to develop, prosper and be happy.
Comrade Tran Phu was born on May 1, 1904, in a family of intellectuals and parents who are patriotic and hometown-idescreen in Duc Tho, Ha Tinh. He was an outstanding student of President Ho Chi Minh and the first General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam at the age of only 26 (in 1930).
In 1931, General Secretary Tran Phu was arrested by the enemy in Saigon, having to endure all methods of cruel torture by the enemy, but he remained a loyal loyal servant of the Party.
On September 6, 1931, comrade Tran Phu passed away at Cho Quan Merchador's House (Saigon).
In 1999, his grave was brought back to his hometown in Tung Anh commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province for burial.
