Located in the middle of Nui Coc lake, about 17km from the center of Thai Nguyen city, the flower island in Doi Che hamlet, Phuc Triu commune, is part of the lake tourism area complex.
Looking down from above, the island appears floating in the middle of the blue water. The color of the leaves blends with the skylight, reflecting through the lake's surface, making the small island like a poetic feature in the vast waters.

On the island, small winding roads through the flower garden are planted interspersed with all kinds of flowers competing to show off their beauty, all of which create a brilliant picture.
The space here is quiet, visitors come not only to see the flowers, but also to rest, read books, chat or simply sit quietly under the trees to enjoy moments of peace.
"I learned about the flower island through the introduction of friends. At first, I just thought of going for a walk around for fun. Who would have thought that they would like it so much, the flowers bloom beautifully, the space is also pleasant", Ms. Vu Thu Trang (Hanoi City) shared.
But the flower island is not just a tourist destination with beautiful scenery. Few people know that this land used to be a deserted island, overgrown with weeds, no electricity, no clean water, and no way up.
The beauty of the island is the result of many years of building, stemming from a very simple, silent wish of the husband for his wife.

More than 10 years ago, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong (Thanh Hoa) was an aquaculture worker on Nui Coc lake. His wife, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, has a blood clotting problem, poor health, and often has to be treated for a long time.
Pitying his wife, he hopes to find her a clean place, away from smoke, dust and the risks of disease recurrence.
Once passing the island, seeing the island abandoned, with barren, and wild land, he had the idea of renovating it to make a place to live for the couple.
That thought haunted him many nights. At that time, the island had no electricity, water or access, but he still collected money, borrowed more and decided to buy it back in 2012.
"In the early days, I planted and took care of whatever flowers I could get, whatever I could get, whatever I could buy cheaply. Each chrysanthemum bed, pink pineapple, rope... is gradually built.
Over the years, from two empty hands, I have turned this wild land into an island of flowers like now," Mr. Phong added.

For him, each flower is a sentiment for his wife. Every day, seeing the flower garden that the two of them grow and bloom every day, she felt more relieved, somewhat relieved from the pain of illness that had plagued her for many years.
In the middle of Nui Coc lake, the small island that used to be barren is now flooded with flowers and tourists come to visit.
A place that was once forgotten has now become a resting place for those who love simple beauty, coming not only to see flowers, but also to settle down on a journey of many worries.
