On the evening of November 29, the 7th National Book Awards Ceremony 2024 took place at the Opera House in Hanoi.
According to the announcement from the organizing committee, the book "The Land of Endless Wonders" by singer Jun Pham won the C prize.
“The Land of Endless” was written by Jun Pham while staying at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially, the work was born as a movie script, but was later developed into a children's book by the male artist.
The book has many bright colors, innocent sentences, suitable for children.
In “Xu nuoc tien my”, Jun Pham tells the story of Mr. Thu’s journey through many strange lands to save his daughter. The male singer used familiar names such as Mi Goi, To He, Uncle Cuoi, Mother Min, Huynh Diep… to refer to the characters in the story “Xu nuoc tien my”.
Notably, the character of Uncle Cuoi was built by Jun Pham based on the prototype of his late father, carrying many personality traits from Mr. Pham Van Thu.
He also included his father and son’s childhood memories in the book. In addition to stories from his own life, Jun Pham also collected pieces of life around him to create “The Endless Land”.
Jun Pham's book has printed more than 15,000 copies, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the "Heartbeat Vietnam" fund to support disadvantaged children with congenital heart disease.
Jun Pham was born in 1989, real name is Pham Duy Thuan, lives and works in Ho Chi Minh City. He had a chance to be involved in art from an early age, entering the entertainment industry as a model and acting in commercials.
In 2010, Jun Pham debuted with the band 365, which included members Isaac, S.T Son Thach, Will and Tronie Ngo.After 5 years of activity, the band 365 disbanded, and Jun Pham switched to independent singing.In addition to music, he is also talented in acting, screenwriting, writing books...
Recently, Jun Pham impressed the audience when participating in the program "Call Me by Fire".
Regarding the National Book Awards, this year, the number of entries has increased compared to before. Up to 51 publishers submitted 372 books, an increase of 25% compared to last year.
The final jury unanimously agreed to award 3 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 21 C prizes and 23 consolation prizes. This year’s awards include the “Readers’ Favorite Book” category.
The award-winning books will be displayed at the Opera House, giving readers the opportunity to admire the outstanding works of each year. In addition, online channels will be used to introduce books, increase the spread of the award, and promote the love of books in the community.
