On the night of January 5, downtown Ho Chi Minh City was packed with people celebrating the Vietnamese team's victory over Thailand at the 2024 ASEAN Cup.

At around 10:45 p.m. on January 5, Lao Dong reported that after the Vietnamese team won, thousands of fans in Ho Chi Minh City poured into the central streets to celebrate.

At Nguyen Hue walking street, Le Loi street, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia street... many fans carried national flags and shouted "Vietnam is the champion".

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tai (living in District 7) was overwhelmed with happiness: "Tonight is a sleepless night for me as well as millions of Vietnamese hearts. Vietnam is the champion!" - Mr. Tai shouted.

The vast majority of people "going out" obey traffic lights and wear helmets.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thang Long - Deputy Head of the General Staff Department - Ho Chi Minh City Police, Ho Chi Minh City Police deployed 100% of its personnel to ensure security and order so that people could actively and safely participate in cheering for football.
