On the evening of September 23, the Film Week "Talents and Spirit of Thang Long" co-organized by the Vietnam Association for the Promotion of Cinema Development (VFDA) in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities officially opened at the National Cinema Center.
Within the framework of film week, the organizers bring 21 feature films, documentaries and animated films on the topic of teachers, morality, knowledge and the aspiration to contribute of the young generation, in relation to the cause of building cultural and spiritual values of Thang Long-Hanoi land.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Cinema Promotion and Development Association, said that the Film Week "Talents and Thang Long Spirit" is organized with the desire to bring the spirit of respecting teachers and valuing the Way, respecting and promoting the strength of talent and Thang Long Spirit in protecting and building the country.
Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan said that Film Week introduces films spanning the development journey of Vietnamese cinema, including classic works awarded the highest prizes at international and Vietnamese film festivals, along with 6 short films awarded high prizes in the "Talents Today" short film competition.
At the opening night of film week, two films were screened: the documentary "Khát vọng vươn xa" and the feature film "Học trò thủy thần".

Recalling the role of teacher Chu Van An, Meritorious Artist Le Dung Nhi said that before participating in the film, he used to be a teacher. Therefore, he felt particularly happy to be assigned the role of a famous teacher in history.
According to Meritorious Artist Le Dung Nhi, teacher Chu Van An is a person who is both talented and virtuous, once held the position of Tu Nghiep Quoc Tu Giam and was honored as "Van The Su Bieu", i.e., the teacher of eternity.
Teacher Chu Van An's virtue and talent have transformed even the Water God. The story in the film tells about the son of the Water God coming to study with the teacher. Because of the teacher's gratitude, this student sacrificed himself to save the people from the drought," said Meritorious Artist Le Dung Nhi.
Nguyen Do Thao Nhi, 18 years old, Hanoi, said that after watching the two films "Khat vong xa" and "Hoc tro thuy than", she was impressed with the way the works convey different stories about people, life and the past.
With the documentary "Khát vọng vươn xa" (Aspiration to reach far), Thao Nhi is particularly impressed with the willpower of the teacher character and the creative teaching method.
According to the female student, the way of communicating plays an important role in helping students absorb knowledge, especially with English in an environment that is still difficult.
