On December 5, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai met with voters of Ba Vi district.
At the meeting, Mr. Pham Tien Vinh - Head of Xuan Hoa village (Van Hoa commune) said that the village has 118 households (village 4) with 375 people in a state of "sharing a gong with no one paying attention" between Ba Vi district and Son Tay town.
Mr. Vinh said that previously, this area with 118 households belonged to the administrative boundary of Ba Vi district. Since 2017, the authorities have re-divided the administrative boundary, this area belongs to Son Tay town.
However, Son Tay town has not taken any action to accept people, land or invest in infrastructure in the area where 118 households live for nearly 8 years.
Mr. Vinh said that this area does not enjoy any policies or regimes on new rural construction, and people have to contribute money to repair village roads and alleys.
The wish of 118 households in hamlet 4 is to return to the administrative boundary of Ba Vi district as before, because all personal documents and health insurance are still from Ba Vi district.
"If it is returned to Son Tay town, in addition to taking administrative boundaries, the government must recognize 375 people, invest in infrastructure and enjoy policies and regimes," Mr. Vinh commented.
Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai affirmed that she will seriously and fully absorb the voters' reflections and recommendations. For matters under the city's authority, she will direct the relevant agencies to resolve them. For matters under the central government's authority, she will report and propose solutions.
Regarding the issue of not yet demarcating boundaries for 118 households, the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee said that the city's leaders have expressed their opinions on this issue and the local government has intervened to resolve it.
"Through the voter contact, the people reflected that the city's authorities must take more active action and handle the situation thoroughly to resolve the issue for the voters" - Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai requested.
The Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and related departments to coordinate with Ba Vi district to set an appropriate time to resolve the above situation for 118 households in Xuan Hoa village.
“We can no longer solve the problem in a roundabout way. No matter how difficult or complicated it is, we must solve it so that households can live and work in peace,” Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai emphasized.
