On July 2, Lam Dong Provincial authorities announced that the unit had just issued a decision to stop all activities of the Phan Thiet City Waste Treatment Plant investment project.
According to the Decision, the scope of the project to be suspended includes the entire investment project. The suspension period is 6 months from July 1, 2025.
The reason for stopping the factory is to correct violations of environmental protection laws as proposed by the State environmental management agency.
The authorities requested Nhat Hoang Company Limited to stop the project. On the other hand, the company must comply with legal regulations until the competent authority allows it to continue implementing.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province is responsible for coordinating with localities and relevant agencies to fully perform their tasks.
The task is to ensure that household waste arising in Phan Thiet city (old) is collected, transported and treated daily.
Thereby, there will be no problems or complications in security, order, urban aesthetics and environmental pollution in the locality.
The Phan Thiet City Waste Treatment Plant Project is located in Tien Thanh Commune, Phan Thiet City (old) with a total investment of more than 495 billion VND, an area of over 10 hectares. Currently, the project is located in Tien Thanh ward, Lam Dong province.
The project was granted a First Investment Certificate by the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province (before the merger) on May 26, 2015; the Department of Planning and Investment of Binh Thuan province (before the merger) issued a Second Amended Investment Registration Certificate on May 19, 2020.
With the designed capacity of the factory's domestic solid waste treatment plant being 400 tons/day.
This is a project invested in waste treatment in Phan Thiet city (old), especially in handling pollution at Binh Tu landfill and part of waste in Ham Thuan Nam district (old).
