On October 29, Mr. Tran Van Quy - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thinh Loc commune - said that due to the impact of storm No. 6, strong waves in the past few days, the roof of the sea dike in Yen Diem village (Thinh Loc commune) was eroded, collapsed, and had a gaping mouth with a length of about 50-60m and a width of 8-10m.
Faced with that situation, on the afternoon of October 29, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Loc Ha district coordinated with the authorities of Thinh Loc commune to mobilize 150 people, including officials, organizations and people of Thinh Loc commune to urgently handle and reinforce eroded and subsided areas.
The forces and local people transported about 40m3 of sand into 300 sacks to temporarily reinforce the landslide sites to prevent further landslides.
In the long term, the locality will propose to superiors a solution to rebuild the embankment to ensure more certainty.
