Due to the influence of storm and storm circulation No. 3, from the night of September 7 to September 10, Yen Bai province experienced heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms. The natural disaster affected all 9 districts, towns and cities in the area, killing 29 people, leaving 5 missing and many injured.
The floods also affected 21,678 houses; 3,837 hectares of agricultural production area were damaged; many locations on national highways, provincial roads, district roads, and communal roads were eroded; many localities were flooded, cutting off communes and wards... The initial preliminary damage estimate is about 195 billion VND.
On September 10, the Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee signed a Decision to declare a natural disaster emergency in the area with the following situations: Heavy rain, flash floods, landslides, and inundation.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province requested the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to continue to review households living in affected areas, at risk of being affected by landslides, flash floods, and inundation to have timely evacuation plans.
Along with that, resolutely direct the evacuation plan, moving households and individuals living in dangerous areas, areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and inundation to safe places.
Be ready to mobilize forces and means to respond promptly to ensure traffic in all situations; arrange forces and means to support localities in responding to rain and floods. Evacuate people, conduct rescue and ensure security, order and social safety.
Organize visits and support for families with deceased or injured people according to regulations; develop plans to receive and distribute relief goods and donations from individuals and organizations to send to people in disaster areas. Organize effective implementation of disaster response plans according to disaster risk levels...
