According to the leader of the People's Committee of Luc Yen district, Yen Bai province, at around 2:00 a.m. on September 10, in At village, Minh Xuan commune, a landslide occurred from a high hill down to a house, completely burying 5 households living at the foot of the hill.
As soon as they grasped the situation, the authorities of Luc Yen district mobilized nearly 300 people including the police, military, local authorities and people to participate in the rescue.
At the scene, 2 injured people were taken to the emergency room. Currently, 5 dead people have been removed from the scene. Units are searching for 4 missing people.
However, due to the rainy weather that has lasted for many days, the land on the high hill is still at risk of landslides, making search and recovery difficult.
Earlier, at around 3:00 a.m. the same day, a large amount of rock and soil from the mountain suddenly collapsed, completely burying the house of a household in Dang Con village, Au Lau commune, Yen Bai city.
Because the incident happened at dawn, people in the house did not have time to run outside. As a result, 3 people died and 1 person was injured.
Initial identification of the deceased victims was a mother and her children, the injured person was the husband.
