Only a few hours left until the new year of At Ty 2025. Besides the passengers who have returned home to reunite with their families, on the afternoon of the 29th of Tet, at the domestic terminal of Tan Son Nhat airport, many people are still patiently lining up, waiting for their turn to check-in, board the plane and return home to celebrate Tet with relatives and friends.
Having worked in the service industry for 4 years, Nguyen Lan Huong (26 years old, from Thanh Hoa) has never been able to celebrate New Year's Eve with her family. It was not until this year that she was able to return to her hometown before the New Year to reunite with her family.
"I work in a hotel, so I have to work continuously during holidays and Tet, and rarely get to go home. If I do go home, it's only for 1-2 days, which is not worth the effort. This year, I was lucky to have a colleague on duty, so I was able to go home for many days and before New Year's Eve," said Ms. Huong.
According to Ms. Huong, because it was the last day of the year, the waiting time for procedures was very quick, it only took her about 15-20 minutes to complete check-in and check in luggage.
According to the reporter's observation, the check-in area of Vietjet Air, although crowded, did not have any jostling or pushing. Meanwhile, at the counter of Vietnam Airlines, the number of customers was much less.
On the flight tracking board, there are fewer flight delays than usual. The terminal entrance, waiting area, and the ride-hailing pick-up area are also much more open than the previous days.
According to information from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, today, January 28 (29th of Tet), the airport served 784 flights, a sharp decrease compared to yesterday (957 flights). Of which, there were 386 departure flights (244 domestic departure flights, 142 international departure flights), 398 arrival flights (258 domestic arrival flights, 140 international arrival flights).
The total number of passengers expected to be served is 107,619 (yesterday 138,086). Of these, 64,929 are departing passengers and 42,699 are arriving passengers.
