On the evening of January 27 (December 28), Tan Son Nhat airport became crowded and bustling with people returning home to celebrate Tet.
It is worth mentioning that on the morning of the same day, traffic at the airport entrances as well as inside the waiting areas of the domestic and international terminals was quite clear.
According to Lao Dong reporters, at the domestic terminal waiting area, a large number of people with their belongings and luggage entered the check-in counter. On the flight tracking board, many flights were delayed from 30 minutes to 1 hour, even a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Quy Nhon was delayed nearly 4 hours.
Ms. Hoang Dieu Tho (47 years old, living in Tan Binh district) arrived close to her flight time and almost couldn't check in because the check-in counter was about to close.
"I thought today would be less crowded than the previous days, but when I came out this afternoon, I was quite surprised because it was still so crowded. The long line and long wait made me quite impatient, so I had to leave the line and pay extra for priority check-in service," said Ms. Tho.
