According to the report of the Repatriation Team of Martyrs' remains under the Ho Chi Minh City Command, on August 14, forces continued to deploy the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains at position 2 in Zone B, Le Thi Rieng Park.
During the day, the task force processed more than 300m3 of soil and expanded the search area in Zone A, Zone B. The Ho Chi Minh City Command mobilized 3 excavators, 1 dump truck and 2 3.5-ton trucks to serve excavation and soil transportation, ensuring the progress of task implementation.
Through searching, functional forces discovered and collected 10 sets of martyrs' remains and 3 sets of artifacts in Zone B.
Accumulated from June 23 to the end of August 14, 2026, the forces have discovered and collected 321 sets of martyrs' remains, including 182 sets with artifacts.
On the same morning, Major General Nguyen Thanh Trung - Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, Standing Deputy Head of the City Steering Committee for Searching, Repatriating and Identifying Martyrs' Remains - came to inspect the search work at Le Thi Rieng Park.


At the scene, Major General Nguyen Thanh Trung checked the progress, listened to the situation report and directed the forces to fully prepare the conditions to continue searching in Zone A after the memorial stele was moved to a new location.
The search process must be carried out closely, scientifically, cautiously and safely; ensuring that the remains, traces and artifacts of the martyrs are not missed.
Major General Nguyen Thanh Trung also visited and encouraged officers, soldiers and forces on duty; acknowledged and praised the spirit of responsibility and efforts to overcome difficulties in the past time.
According to Major General Nguyen Thanh Trung, searching for and repatriating martyrs' remains is a task of profound political, social and humanistic significance, reflecting the moral principle of "When drinking water, remember the source", "Gratitude" to those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
The Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command requested the forces to continue to closely coordinate, proactively overcome difficulties and accelerate progress on the basis of ensuring accuracy, contributing to bringing the martyrs back to their families and homeland soon.
