On July 5, information from the Gia Lai Province Agricultural and Rural Development Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the remaining 38km of the Provincial Coastal Road project is in the process of completing investment procedures, striving to start construction by the end of 2025.
The Gia Lai Province Coastal Road Project is a key transport infrastructure project, with a total length of more than 115km and a total investment of nearly VND9,200 billion.

The route starts from Quy Nhon ward, running along the northern coastal localities of the province, connecting with the coastal road system of Quang Ngai in the North and the old Phu Yen (now Dak Lak province) in the South. Of which, about 99km is a completely newly built route, the rest takes advantage of the existing National Highway 1D.
To date, nearly 39km of coastal road has been completed and put into use, including the main sections: Cat Tien - De Gi, De Gi - My Thanh and the section from Lai Giang bridge to Thien Chanh bridge.
Currently, some sections are under construction with a volume of 70-80%, such as: Cat Tien to Diem Van section, over 13.5km long, with a total investment of nearly VND2,700 billion, expected to be completed in 2026. The Dien Bien Phu road section extends to Diem Van Urban Area, more than 1.5km long with a total investment of nearly 520 billion VND, expected to be completed this year.
Starting construction of the remaining 38km in 2025 will help complete the more than 115km coastal route, forming new development space, strengthening regional linkages, and creating great momentum for the marine economy, tourism, real estate and logistics.
In the long term, the coastal route will be synchronously connected with the North - South Expressway, Phu Cat Airport, international seaports in Quy Nhon and Phu My, forming a strategic economic corridor from the coastal area to the Central Highlands.
The coastal road project is part of the overall infrastructure development plan for the 2025-2030 period of Gia Lai province.
In 2025, the locality strives to start construction of 7 key traffic projects with a total capital of nearly 58,000 billion VND. In particular, the coastal route is a key project, along with major projects such as upgrading Phu Cat airport, Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway...
