Currently, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province has assigned socio-economic development targets to 58 communes and wards (in the old Binh Dinh province), with 24 specific targets in each field for each locality. The remaining 77 communes and wards (formerly in Gia Lai province) are expected to be allocated targets this July.
The one who causes disunity will have to stand aside
Directing the implementation of tasks, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested localities to quickly stabilize the organization, assign tasks and immediately start work. He said that the workload in the first phase is very large, requiring cadres and leaders to be ready to work on Saturdays and Sundays, outside of working hours, at any time.

Mr. Tuan especially emphasized the spirit of solidarity, for the common good in the team of cadres and leaders: "Whoever causes disunity will have to stand aside".
The Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee also frankly expressed concern about the cadres being able to handle the workload when the new apparatus officially operates. He said that the current commune level is like a miniature province, because many tasks are directly decentralized to localities, while the staff is still personnel from the old commune-district apparatus.
"Will officers in the old apparatus digest the workload of the new apparatus or not, and ensure good operation and long-term safety? " , Mr. Tuan raised the issue and said that the apparatus is not yet at its most stable state, and is still disrupted because the staff is still in the stage of getting used to a new place to live and work.

The Chairman of the province requested the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, as well as the Secretaries and Chairmen of communes and wards to work with the spirit of "work is over, not overtime", completing work during the day, not leaving any backlogs. Affairs that need to be handled for many days must be resolved on schedule, even earlier than planned.
Handling officials causing difficulties for the project
Gia Lai Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung said that in the early days of operating the new government apparatus, Gia Lai is one of the localities that operated well, leading the country in terms of speed in handling procedures, creating excitement among the people.
The Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee decided to assign all comrades in the Standing Committee, along with leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial People's Council, to visit, work and listen to reports on the situation in all communes and wards next week. From there, we will draw experience in directing and operating.
According to Mr. Dung, Gia Lai has the second largest area in the country, with a population of about 3.5 million people, with a large plateau, 134km of coastline, fertile plains, and an infrastructure system of 2 airports, seaports, railways, roads, etc.
However, the large area is both an advantage and a challenge, requiring the province to promptly develop a master plan suitable for the potential, strengths and development space of the locality.
"From now on, we are the children of the new homeland of Gia Lai, we must be wholeheartedly united, contribute our strength and intelligence to develop the province," Mr. Dung directed.
The Provincial Party Secretary also requested to review and completely resolve projects and works that are stuck and backlogged, in the spirit of resolving them and creating conditions for the project to be implemented.
"We have to think in the direction of removing obstacles for the project, not tying up or making things difficult. I know who is causing trouble and I will handle it. If any comrade meets and discusses it, if he is too scared and does not dare to do it, then withdraws and gives in to others," Mr. Dung emphasized.
Mr. Dung said that key projects such as the Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway or the North - South High-Speed Railway passing through the province will be the first test for leaders of new communes and wards.
" Those who cannot do site clearance for these dynamic projects should voluntarily request to move to another location, don't say it is too difficult to do. When doing business, there must be products, clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities," Mr. Dung requested.
