Growing VietGAP standard vegetables to " popularise" chicken farming
On October 15, working with Lao Dong, Mr. Duong Hiep Hoa - Chairman of the People's Committee of Canh Vinh Commune (Gia Lai) - confirmed that the Provincial People's Committee has not yet issued a decision to revoke the VietGAP Safety Vegetable Production Project in the old Van Canh District, Binh Dinh (now Canh Vinh Commune, Gia Lai) invested by CP Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company.
"The Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee and the Department of Finance have inspected and worked with the locality. The project is temporarily suspended according to the province's request and is waiting for a specific handling plan," said Mr. Hoa.

Previously, on July 21, the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Finance issued a decision to temporarily suspend all activities of the project for 3 months, until October 22, 2025. At the same time, investors are required to correct violations and report the results for further consideration and implementation. If it does not overcome or does not meet investment conditions, the project will be considered for termination.
The project was approved by the People's Committee of the old Binh Dinh province in 2019, with the goal of providing safe vegetables for the restaurant system in the old Quy Nhon city and serving the domestic market. The province has leased more than 4.4 hectares of land to CP Company for implementation.

However, instead of safe vegetable production, businesses have built a series of constructions to raise chickens, pigs, cows, goats and organize experiential tourism activities for students... without a construction permit and without permission from the authorities.
Notably, on April 2, 2025, when the province's interdisciplinary working group came to inspect the site, the investor did not cooperate, closed the gate and was absent from the site, hindering the inspection and handling of violations.
The province directs the revocation, the project is still "utsure"
Faced with serious violations, in June 2025, the Standing Committee of the old Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee assigned the Provincial People's Committee to direct the project to be revoked and the related officials to be strictly handled, in order to restore discipline in investment and project implementation.
At the press conference on the socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of 2025, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Permanent Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee (old) - affirmed: "The investor did not properly implement the policy. The government will not cover up violations, will revoke the project, and not allow it to be implemented. The province has assigned the Department of Finance to review the entire project".

However, after nearly 4 months since the direction of revocation, up to now, the Provincial People's Committee has not issued an official decision. The project is currently only temporarily suspended, and there is no way to handle it completely.
People in Canh Vinh commune reported that the project of "shelving" clean vegetables for illegal construction, animal husbandry and service business has existed for many years but was slow to be detected and handled. Meanwhile, households building small projects were forced to dismantle.
This has caused public outrage in the context that the province is implementing a campaign to strictly handle illegal construction cases, launched by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan, demonstrating the strictness and fairness in managing construction order.
People requested that the authorities soon have clear decisions, thoroughly handle violating projects, ensure fairness and deterrence in investment and land management.
