On the afternoon of July 28, the Department of Health of Binh Thuan province quickly reported the case of many tourists suspected of having food poisoning in Phan Thiet city.
According to the report, a group of 182 people traveled and stayed at SB resort in Mui Ne ward, Phan Thiet city from noon July 26 to July 28. The group had dinner on July 26 at CBV restaurant. On the morning of July 27, the group had breakfast buffet at the SB resort; lunch with 176 people at this resort.
The first case was hospitalized at An Phuoc General Hospital at 3:50 p.m. on July 27 with symptoms of abdominal pain, repeated diarrhea, and nausea. After that, there were many hospitalizations with similar symptoms. The last hospitalization was at 9:30 a.m. on July 28. The total number of people hospitalized at An Phuoc General Hospital is 48 people, all of whom are in the same group as above.
Through examination and treatment, 43 cases with mild symptoms have been discharged from the hospital and their health is stable. Currently, An Phuoc General Hospital is still monitoring and treating 5 people and is expected to be discharged on the afternoon of July 28.
Tourist V.D.B (residing in Ho Chi Minh City) who is being treated at the Department of Internal Medicine, An Phuoc General Hospital on the morning of July 28 told reporters that the tour group had 5 cars, Mr. B. took car number 2. After eating After noon, I returned to my room to lie down around 2:00 p.m. and began to have symptoms of stomach pain, diarrhea, and nausea, then was admitted to the hospital at 3:00 p.m. Mr. B also affirmed that he did not eat or drink anything outside, only eating at the resort according to the schedule arranged by the group.
After understanding the incident, the Department of Health of Binh Thuan province organized 3 working groups to investigate and handle the above incident. A team investigating suspected poisoning cases at the hospital, an investigation team taking samples of stored food and a food safety inspection team chaired by the Department of Health Inspector worked at the facility. relevant departments to inspect and check food safety conditions.
Currently, the process of testing stored food samples, the process of inspecting and checking food safety at relevant establishments is being urgently carried out by the Department of Health.
