On the afternoon of September 7, information from the Ho Chi Minh City Command said that 10 more sets of martyrs' remains had just been discovered and collected at Zone B, Le Thi Rieng Park, along with 1 set of artifacts.
The above results were recorded during the process of functional forces continuing to expand the search area at position 2 (Zone B). More than 500m3 of soil was treated during the day to serve the search work.
To maintain progress, the Ho Chi Minh City Command mobilized 3 excavators, 1 dump truck and 2 3.5-ton trucks to serve excavation and soil transportation in the area.
From June 23 to the end of September 7, a total of 592 sets of martyrs' remains were discovered and collected at Le Thi Rieng Park. Among these, 274 sets contained artifacts.
Notably, the number of remains collected includes 559 individual sets of remains and 33 sets of remains at 8 collective grave locations.
The number of 592 sets of remains collected shows the large workload that forces have carried out in the past 2 months. The search work in Zone B is still being expanded.
Functional forces are organizing excavation, treatment and transportation of soil in parallel with the search, in order to continue identifying areas where there may still be martyrs' remains.
