Speaking at the ceremony, An Giang Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai emphasized that, whether in wartime or peacetime, the police force still maintains its role as a "steel shield" to protect the Party, protect the revolutionary government, and protect the peaceful and happy life of the people.
After the day of national reunification, the provincial police force has continuously grown, overcoming many difficulties and challenges to maintain political security, order, and social safety in the province with diverse ethnic and religious characteristics, complex terrain, rich culture and an important trading unit in the Southwest region.

In the area of the two provinces of An Giang and Kien Giang, the police force has had many special feats in the past; including the CM12 project, marking a strong growth of the provincial police force and the People's Security force.
In the first years of the country's reform, under the leadership of the Party, the An Giang Provincial Police successfully dismantled many propaganda, special attacks, spies, and dismantled counter-revolutionary organizations located in key areas.
In the integration period, the police force has proactively innovated thinking, stepped up the fight against all types of crimes, especially organized crimes, transnational crimes, high-tech crimes. Hundreds of gangs, criminal groups and thousands of social evils have been dismantled. Notably, the police force quickly investigated and clarified serious and especially serious cases, causing a stir in public opinion, creating trust and admiration among the people.

For those feats and achievements, An Giang Police have been awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal by the Party and State; 23 collectives and 8 individuals were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces and hundreds of medals of all kinds, along with other noble titles. These are the recognition of the Party, State and People for the great merits and contributions of the Provincial Police force.
The Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee requested the provincial police force to promote its core role, proactively grasp the situation, maintain political security, and avoid being passive or surprised. Especially in strategic areas such as the border, areas with a large number of ethnic minorities, large numbers of religious people, and special zones: Phu Quoc, Tho Chau and Kien Hai. This is an important task of the police force, in the context of the country's increasingly deep integration, increasing non-traditional security challenges, grasping the situation, proactively preventing early and from afar is a decisive factor in maintaining political stability.

Strengthen the building of a disciplined, elite, and modern police force; focus on training young cadres with political courage, professional capacity, public ethics, and professional style.
