On the afternoon of May 26, in Hanoi, the Public Security Communications Department organized the Launching Ceremony of the Electronic Editorial Management System and the new interface of the Public Security Electronic Newspaper. Lieutenant General Do Trieu Phong, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Public Security Communications Department chaired the ceremony.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Vu Quy Cuong, Deputy Director of the Press and Publication Department, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Dang Khac Loi, Deputy Director of the Press Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Bui Thi Thuy Lieu, Deputy Head of the Electronic Information Department, Radio, Television and Electronic Information Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
On the side of the People's Public Security Communications Department were Deputy Directors: Colonel Bui Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Colonel Tran Cao Kieu, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the People's Public Security Publishing House; Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Public Security Newspaper; Colonel Nguyen Thi Thu Hang. Also attending were comrades in the Party Committee, leaders of the Department; representatives of leaders of functional units directly under the Department; Editorial Board and officers, soldiers, reporters, and editors of the People's Public Security Newspaper.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Thanh Binh, Editor-in-Chief of CAND Newspaper, said that in the digital transformation roadmap, building a convergent editorial office model and developing multi-platform journalism, CAND Newspaper not only aims to simply change the interface of electronic newspapers, but more importantly to change the operation of the editorial office, increase the speed of information processing, increase coordination between departments and bring CAND Newspaper closer to readers in the digital environment.
Today's result is the concretization of the consistent direction of the leaders of the Public Security Communications Department, directly the Director of the Department, in promoting the digital transformation of the press in a substantive direction. We determine that the digital transformation process of the People's Police Newspaper is inseparable from the general digital transformation process of the Public Security Communications system," the Editor-in-Chief of the People's Police Newspaper stated clearly.
According to the Editor-in-Chief, in the work program of the Public Security Communications Department, the task of digital transformation, building a converging editorial office model and a common data system to serve multi-platform journalism activities is always identified as the focus. What is being implemented today is first of all a pilot step, searching and gradually perfecting the digital journalism operating model in practice, thereby being able to refer to, share experiences and expand throughout the Public Security communication system in the coming time.
With that orientation, CAND Newspaper has set a goal in 2026 to focus on strongly improving the growth index in digital transformation of the press not only in technology infrastructure but also in operating methods, digital content quality and adaptability of the team of officials, reporters, and editors.
For the new interface, CAND Newspaper chose to design in a modern direction but still retains the official identity and characteristics of the CAND force. The interface innovation is not only aimed at enhancing the reader experience but also serving the requirements of converging editorial office operation and developing multi-platform journalism in the new period. Parallel to the new interface is the electronic newspaper editorial office management system built in a streamlined, friendly and more optimal direction for the operation process.
In addition to the electronic newspaper service system, CAND Newspaper has completed the management system serving print newspaper production in the direction of data interconnection and synchronous publishing process between print and electronic newspapers. This is an important step to form a convergent editorial office model and shared data. In the next phase, the system will continue to be expanded with more features serving internal management and administration, towards gradually forming a synchronous digital working environment in the editorial office.
Speaking to direct at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party Committee and leaders of the People's Public Security Communications Department, Lieutenant General Do Trieu Phong acknowledged and praised the proactive, responsible and determined spirit of innovation of the leadership, officials, reporters, and editors of the People's Public Security Newspaper and technology units for coordinating in building and deploying a large volume of work in a short time.
The fact that the People's Police Newspaper put into operation the electronic newspaper interface and the new management system today shows the spirit of proactively adapting to the requirements of press development in the digital environment; and at the same time shows the determination to innovate the editorial office's operating methods in a more modern and professional direction," Lieutenant General Do Trieu Phong praised.
Lieutenant General Do Trieu Phong also highly appreciated CAND Newspaper for proactively coordinating with CAND Radio to build and bring the Podcast section to the new electronic newspaper interface. This is a direction in line with the trend of multi-platform journalism development; and at the same time is an important starting point to gradually form a converging editorial office model, strengthening the connection, sharing and resonance of content in the CAND communication ecosystem.
The Director noted that technology is only an initial condition. The most important thing is still information quality, news processing speed, orientation and spread of journalistic products. Journalism in the current digital environment requires faster, more accurate and more professional. The way of accessing information is changing very rapidly. If press agencies do not innovate their operating thinking and content organization, it will be difficult to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
The Director requested the People's Police Newspaper to continue to focus on a number of key contents. In which, ensuring official information, promptly orienting issues of public concern; continuing to improve the quality of the team of reporters and editors in a multi-skilled direction, adapting to the requirements of multi-platform journalism.
In addition, effectively exploit the system that has been built, avoiding the situation where there is modern technology but the operating method and organization of content production still follows the old thinking. At the same time, strengthen connection, coordination and information sharing throughout the CAND communication system to create common strength.
At the ceremony, delegates performed the button pressing ceremony to launch the new interface of CAND Electronic Newspaper.
Implementing the Ministry of Public Security's plan on implementing the "Strategy for Digital Transformation of Journalism to 2025, orientation to 2030" in the People's Public Security Forces and the 2026 work program, the People's Public Security Communications Department has directed the People's Public Security Newspaper to focus resources, coordinate with functional units to urgently build an electronic editorial office management system, and change the electronic newspaper interface to promote the development and attract readers of the People's Public Security Electronic Newspaper in particular and the People's Public Security Newspaper in general.
In parallel with technological improvements, the new interface of CAND Electronic Newspaper is designed in a modern, intuitive direction but still maintains the political identity and authenticity of the press agency under the CAND force. The dominant red color is used as a clear, solemn brand identity mark, suitable for the position of one of the 6 key multimedia media agencies.
Topics such as World Security, Public Security Arts and Local Topics are reorganized in the direction of clearer identification, closer structure with the general information flow of the People's Police Newspaper.
In particular, the new system integrates the electronic print newspaper reading feature, helping readers access the daily print newspaper publications of the People's Police Newspaper in a digital environment with a close experience like reading traditional paper newspapers but more convenient and flexible.
The electronic editorial management system and the new interface of CAND Electronic Newspaper are comprehensively optimized in terms of page loading speed, display capability on multiple devices and readers' experience of accessing information. But the most concerning thing is still the quality of content and the ability to transmit official information faster and more effectively.
