Recently, at the meeting of the 40th week of 2025 of the City People's Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau directed the handling of landslide risks and ensuring the safety of 122 households in areas at risk of landslides in Do Son ward.
Accordingly, the Chairman of the City People's Committee directed the People's Committee of Do Son Ward to urgently implement plans and measures to ensure absolute safety for 122 households in areas at risk of landslides (old residential groups 6, 7, Van Huong ward) while waiting for investment procedures for the Land Actions and Relocation Project and the Resettlement Area Construction Project.
At the same time, carry out procedures to hand over 13 resettlement plots in residential group 8 (plot A30) to households in the most dangerous location, to be completed before October 31, 2025.
The Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee also directed the Department of Finance to urgently consider the proposal of Do Son Ward People's Committee on investing in a project to prevent and combat landslides and relocate households in landslide areas in the ward, and report to the City People's Committee.
At the same time, the Office of the City People's Committee was assigned to complete the dossier, propose, report to the Party Committee of the City People's Committee, and seek opinions from the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on the investment policy for the Project to build resettlement areas to serve site clearance in Do Son and Nam Do Son wards.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper had repeatedly reported landslides in the Do Son area. Accordingly, since storm No. 3 in 2024, the Do Son district (old) has recorded 17 landslides, including very serious landslides. The landslide caused 4 households to have their houses washed away, collapsed, buried, and have no place to live. 46 households have not lost their homes, and are at high risk of landslides and collapses, making it impossible to continue living. The landslides were mainly concentrated in Van Huong ward (old), now in Do Son ward.
Up to now, after many storms, the landslides have been serious. Of which, 122 households in residential groups 6 and 7, the old Van Huong ward live in areas with terrain close to the foot of the mountain, which is at high risk of landslides, which can endanger life and property.
Immediately after receiving instructions from the Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, before storm No. 11, the working group of Do Son Ward People's Committee directly visited each household in the residential groups 6 and 7 (old Van Huong ward) to propagate, mobilize and support people in the area at risk of landslides to proactively evacuate to safe locations, ensuring absolute safety for people and property in the context of complicated weather developments after the storm.
