On the evening of November 6, speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Hung Tan - Chairman of Tuy Phuoc Bac Commune People's Committee (Gia Lai) - said that storm No. 13 swept away many corrugated iron roofs, collapsing a number of houses, although people had proactively fought back before the storm made landfall.

"The local government has received information about households whose roofs were blown off and their houses collapsed. We have instructed people to find solid and temporary shelters. As soon as possible, the force will approach and take the people to safe shelters, not leaving them isolated in the sky," said Mr. Tan.

Some households in Phuoc Hung area (Tuy Phuoc Bac commune) livestreamed on social networks, asking for rescue forces to help bring them to safety, including the elderly.

In Tuy Phuoc Dong commune, Mr. Duong Minh Tan - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee - said that up to now, nearly 600 households in Vinh Quang 2, Huynh Gian Nam and Huynh Gian Bac villages have had their houses flooded with water from 20-30cm.

"The high tide combined with the rainfall brought by the storm has flooded many houses. Local forces are ready to approach and support people if bad situations occur," Mr. Tan informed.

In Quy Nhon ward, after many strong thunderstorms, many apartments at Hoang Anh Gia Lai Apartment Building were completely torn by the wind, and many items were damaged. A series of rolling doors and ceilings of social housing apartments were blown off and collapsed. Motorbikes fell, the windows of some cars were blown away, leaving a scene of devastation.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Hieu (40 years old), resident of Quy Nhon ward, shared: "I live in an apartment building, and I have been struggling but the wind is too strong, pushing all the glass doors and ceilings back. This storm is terrible, I hope it will soon dissipate so that people can stabilize their lives."
