In Quang Ninh, quick statistics show that 14 110kV transformer stations were taken out of operation, 84 medium voltage lines had problems due to storm Yagi. Currently, 4 lines have been repaired by the electricity industry. About more than 274,000 customers in the area had their power supply interrupted .
As for Cam Pha Power Company, 12 medium voltage poles and 2 low voltage poles were broken, causing power outage to 274,014 customers out of a total of 84 power lines. These areas are managed by Ha Long City, Mong Cai, Uong Bi, Cam Pha, Dong Trieu, Van Don, Tien Yen, Binh Lieu, Hai Ha, and Ba Che Power Companies.
In Hai Phong, according to a quick report from Hai Phong Electricity, this morning, 6 110kV lines were affected, causing a power outage in the entire Cat Hai island district. 50 other medium voltage lines were also affected, leaving over 300,000 customers without electricity.
At 1:30 p.m., a representative from Hai Phong Electricity said that the city area was experiencing heavy rain, level 15 winds, many electric poles were knocked down and the entire city was without power. However, the electricity agency has not been able to estimate the initial damage.
In Thai Binh, 4 110kV lines have problems, 3 110kV transformer stations are out of power. 110 medium voltage lines (voltage level from 15kV and above) are also out of power. About 570,000 customers in Thai Binh are affected.
In Hai Duong, 2 low-voltage poles broke, causing power outage to 12,456 customers (managed by Hai Duong City, Thanh Ha, Kim Thanh, Binh Giang, Ninh Giang Electricity).
In Phu Tho, the roof of Viet Tri Electricity's warehouse collapsed with an area of about 85 square meters and the protective fence of Minh Phuong intermediate station cracked.
Regarding the grid operation situation, Vietnam Electricity Group said that at 8:36 p.m. on September 6, there was a power outage at the entire 500KV Hoa Binh station, but it did not cause a power outage to the load (the cause of the incident is suspected to be lightning). Immediately after the incident, the units checked and fixed the problem.
As of 3:00 p.m. on September 7, several generators at the power plant in Quang Ninh had stopped due to problems. Five 500kV lines had problems, including Pho Noi - Thang Long, Hiep Hoa - Quang Ninh, Quang Ninh - Thang Long, Quang Ninh - Mong Duong 1; and Quang Ninh - Pho Noi.
There were 82 220kV and 110kV lines with problems, of which 5 lines have been restored.
According to the report of the Northern Power Corporation, currently all Power Companies from Quang Ninh to Thanh Hoa have re-established shifts at all 110kV transformer stations, power lines and critical grid locations to be ready to respond to and handle incidents.
Quang Ninh Power Company is currently separating the operation of 14 stations to ensure safe power supply. At Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Hai Duong and Phu Tho Power Companies, troubleshooting is being carried out to ensure safety.
Regarding the impact of the storm, Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) also said that by 9:00 p.m. on September 6, all underground and open-pit coal mining units in the storm-affected areas in Quang Ninh had stopped production and organized shifts according to regulations.
Currently, Cam Pha - Quang Ninh area is experiencing widespread power outages, mines are running backup generators to pump water to prevent flooding in the mines. The situation in Dong Trieu and Mao Khe areas is still stable.
