On December 12, the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Tri Province Police announced that the authorities had arrested wanted suspect Dinh Nhien (born in 1967, residing in Tuyen Lam Commune), a wanted person since 1989, for two crimes: "Robbery of citizens" and "Illegal use of military weapons".
According to the records, from January to the end of March 1989, due to no money to spend, Nhien and a number of other subjects used AK guns, bullets and crystal meth to threaten, search and rob the property of people traveling to sell gold in Bai Tranh, Quat, Thanh Hoa commune, Tuyen Hoa district, Binh Tri Thien province (old). This behavior was recorded by the authorities and issued a wanted notice on March 17, 1989 .
After committing the crime, Dinh Nhien left the locality and fled to Laos. The search process lasted for many years but the subject did not leave a trace, and at the same time cut off all contact with relatives to avoid detection.
By the end of 2025, the authorities had successfully arrested Dinh Nhien.
The Provincial Police are continuing to complete the file to handle it according to the law.
