On the morning of December 4, at km25 of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway, deep flooding occurred on the road surface. This location is in Tan Lap commune, Lam Dong province.
Recorded at the scene, floodwaters in both directions passed through this location. In some places, the water was more than half the wheel. The flooded area is about 50m long.
Flooded roads do not ensure safety for high-speed vehicles on the highway.
The Traffic Police force of Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6 (Department 6, Traffic Police Department) and the route management unit urgently arrived to divert traffic from a distance and temporarily closed the flooded road.
Vehicles are allowed to exit the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway at the National Highway 55 and Phan Thiet intersections.
It is known that the location at km25 was flooded in July 2023. This location is low-lying, near the river.
After the flooding in July 2023, the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet Expressway Project Management Board has deployed the repair of items.
However, from the evening of December 3, the locality had prolonged heavy rain, and by the morning of December 4, flooding occurred at the above location. Nearby residential areas and National Highway 55 in the locality were also flooded.
