Truong Sa Island infirmary rescues Binh Dinh fisherman in distress

On December 27, Truong Sa Island Infirmary was treating a fisherman from Binh Dinh province with acute appendicitis.

On December 24, while fishing in the sea 120 nautical miles northwest of Truong Sa Island, Mr. Nguyen Sang (51 years old, residing in Binh Dinh province) felt pain in his abdomen and right iliac fossa.

On December 27, the patient was taken to Truong Sa Island Infirmary for emergency treatment by fishing boat BD 98683 TS.

Truong Sa island doctors examined and consulted online with Military Hospital 175, diagnosed the patient with acute appendicitis at the 72nd hour and prescribed surgery to remove the inflamed appendix, wash the abdominal cavity and drain it.

After more than 1 hour of surgery, the patient's health is temporarily stable. After surgery, the patient is conscious, responsive, and has pain at the surgical site.
