On June 8, the working delegation led by Can Tho City Party Secretary Do Thanh Binh and Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen directly inspected a number of offices expected to be arranged after the merger.

In Ninh Kieu district, the working group inspected the headquarters of An Khanh ward, which is expected to become the headquarters of Tan An ward after merging An Khanh and Hung Loi wards.
In Thoi Lai district, the delegation inspected the headquarters of the People's Committee of Dinh Mon commune, expected to be the headquarters of the new Truong Thanh commune, formed from the merger of Tan Thanh, Dinh Mon and Truong Thanh communes.

In O Mon district, the delegation inspected the headquarters of the People's Committee of Phuoc Thoi ward, which will continue to be the headquarters of Phuoc Thoi ward after merging Truong Lac and Phuoc Thoi wards.
Next up to Binh Thuy district, the headquarters of the Ward People's Committee and Thoi An Dong Ward Police, is expected to be the headquarters of the new Thoi An Dong ward, merged from Tra Noc ward and Thoi An Dong ward.
After checking and listening to the report, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen highly appreciated the proactiveness of districts in developing plans, ready for official operation from July 1.
"Through a number of surveys by the working group and directly surveys by the city leaders, it shows that the districts have proactively prepared to officially operate from July 1 according to the two-level local government model," Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen stated.

However, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City also noted that districts and towns need to pay special attention to some key issues to avoid interruptions such as accommodation for officials; transfer administrative procedures, connect to the information network and store records; network and electricity systems.
"Based on today's survey, we will direct districts and towns to continue reviewing to ensure that from now until July 1, 100% of new communes and wards will officially come into operation without any obstacles from administrative procedures, as well as central-level tasks take effect," said the Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee.
According to the approved project, Can Tho will undergo major changes in administrative structure. From the current 80 communes and wards, the city will have 32 communes and wards from July 1, 2025.
