On the morning of June 25, Hanoi organized a conference to commend typical cultural families of the Capital in 2026. This year, 126 families were commended and rewarded for their many contributions to building cultural life and spreading good values in the community.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Duc Thang - Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Cultural Development of the Capital, said that in order for each family to have a warm and happy life, comprehensive development, the entire political system of the city is determined and strives every day for the goal of double-digit growth, creating new jobs, and improving income.
The city is focusing on solving 5 bottlenecks: traffic congestion, urban order, flooding, environmental pollution and food safety; building a safe, civilized, modern, humane, and happy living environment for the people of the capital.
In the context of the budget, the city also prioritizes allocating resources for the implementation of social security policies, taking care of policy families and ethnic minorities. Each resident of the capital will be supported with periodic health check-ups or free screenings once a year from the city budget starting from July 1, 2026. Elementary school students will have their lunch meal support level increased to ensure nutrition and physical development.
The city has also been and is promoting the development of social housing, rental housing, building schools and hospitals so that each family has the opportunity to access housing suitable for their income; reducing school pressure for parents; overcoming the overload in medical examination and treatment facilities; developing more spaces for the elderly to participate in cultural activities and children to play.
Each cultural family is a healthy cell of society; happy families will create a civilized community, thereby contributing to realizing the goal of building a Capital of Culture - Civilization - Modernity - Happiness" - Hanoi Party Secretary said.
Mr. Tran Duc Thang also emphasized that the city always identifies family work as an important, regular and long-term task; linking building families with building an elegant and civilized cultural environment of the capital; linking the happiness of each family with the sustainable development of the Capital and the country.
Hanoi Party Secretary requested Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, mass organizations, agencies, units, and localities in the city to continue to pay more attention to family work; considering this an important content in socio-economic development, in building the culture and people of the Capital.
At the same time, wishing each family of the Capital to promote the thousand-year-old cultural tradition and cultural lifestyle of Hanoi people to build a good living environment together; build the city into a green, smart, modern city, with happy people, becoming a safe, friendly and attractive destination.
I hope that the typical cultural families commended today will continue to promote the achieved results; preserve and spread good values; actively participate in patriotic emulation movements and local campaigns; become "bright spots" in the community.
