On the evening of June 29, thousands of people and tourists flocked to the center of Lao Cai and Yen Bai cities to watch the fireworks display and attractive art programs.
This is an activity within the framework of the program to celebrate the establishment of the new Lao Cai province on the basis of merging the two provinces of Yen Bai and Lao Cai.

According to Lao Dong reporters, before the G hour, many people and tourists were present in the center and around Yen Bai and Lao Cai city squares to watch the program.
Through observation, the weather in Lao Cai is cool, no rain, along Dinh Le walking street, An Duong Vuong street in Lao Cai city becomes crowded with people. The crowd was bustling and bustling, waiting for the eye-catching fireworks display.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu (residing in Lao Cai city) said: "I am very excited to welcome the art program as well as the fireworks display tonight. The stage was invested in very grandly, with many famous artists performing, so my family and I arrived early to get a good position. Although it was a bit late, the whole family was looking forward to the fireworks display to celebrate the two provinces getting married".

In contrast to Lao Cai, at 19.8 Square in Yen Bai city, the weather here has light rain.
However, this could not stop thousands of people and tourists from flocking to watch the fireworks to celebrate the newly established province.

Previously, on April 12, the 11th Conference of the 13th Central Executive Committee approved Resolution No. 60, the policy of merging Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces. The new province will be named Lao Cai, the political and administrative center will be located in Yen Bai.
In the past, from 1976 to 1991, the three provinces of Yen Bai - Nghia Lo - Lao Cai were merged into an administrative unit named Hoang Lien Son. That was the period of the existence of a "giant" tourist area stretching from Fansipan peak to Thac Ba lake - names that have appeared on the map of Vietnamese and international tourism.
The reorganization after more than 30 years of provincial separation not only has the meaning of streamlining administrative management, but also opens up new opportunities for the Northwest tourism industry.
