On July 20, the Party Committee - Command of the Border Guard of An Giang province organized a conference to announce and award decisions on promotion and salary increase for Colonel and Senior Colonel ranks. Colonel Nguyen Van Hiep, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Border Guard of the province chaired the conference.
At the conference, representatives of the Political Department announced the decisions of the Ministry of National Defense on promoting military ranks and salaries ahead of schedule and on time for 10 officers and professional soldiers who meet the regulations. Leaders of the Provincial Border Guard Command presented decisions, attached military ranks and presented flowers to congratulate the comrades who were promoted to military ranks and salaries.
Especially in this phase, Colonel Pham Van Thang, Commander of An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command, was promoted to Colonel's salary by the Ministry of National Defense 24 months ahead of schedule, for his particularly outstanding achievements in performing the task of protecting national border sovereignty and security.

Previously in Hanoi, the Party Committee - Border Guard Command awarded the decision of the Ministry of National Defense on promoting the rank of Colonel ahead of schedule from Senior Colonel to Colonel for Colonel Nguyen Thanh Tien, Deputy Commander and Colonel Nguyen Van Toan, Head of Political Department of An Giang Provincial Border Guard.
Speaking to congratulate, the Party Secretary acknowledged and praised the efforts, the process of training, striving and the contributions of the comrades who were promoted to military ranks and increased salaries to the cause of managing and protecting territorial sovereignty, national border security and building a strong Provincial Border Guard force.
