After the flood in November 2025, the coastline through village 6 in Trieu Co commune suffered heavy landslides. In particular, when large waves continuously hit the shore, the concrete floor of the fishing port in village 6 thicker than 20cm collapsed, exposing deep frog jawles close to the shore.
Having been attached to the sea fishing profession for a long time, fishermen in village 6 are worried that with the current situation of landslides and encroachment, the fishing wharf will soon disappear, at that time his and other fishermen's boats will not know where to anchor each rainy and stormy season.
According to Mr. Tran Luan, head of village 6, the fishing wharf in the village was built in 2018, is the place where boats anchored and is a seafood trading point of the whole village. However, since 2022, the sea has begun to erode into the shore, and has now encroached about 50m.

"In just a few years, if the sea is so deep, the risk of wiping out the fishing wharf is high. With each storm, the waves hit the shore and became much more intense than before, said Mr. Luan.
The landslide in Trieu Co commune did not stop at the fishing wharf, but the entire coastline of more than 400m next to it was also eroded. The wild pineapple beds that were traditionally eaten deep and kept the soil firm have now been reduced to a side and have left their roots exposed. More dangerously, the well system and seawater pipes serving the aquaculture area above were also damaged by waves.
Worried about the landslides affecting fishing ports and snail ponds, shrimp farming, people, local authorities and Trieu Van Border Guard Station have made efforts to use sandbags and rocks to reinforce them. But this reinforcement is only a temporary solution, every time the waves rise, hitting the shore, the sand sinks and is swept out to sea.
According to the People's Committee of Trieu Co commune, the landslide problem in village 6 has occurred many years ago, but the recent flood caused more serious landslides, directly affecting the safety of fishing wharves and aquaculture areas. The People's Committee of Trieu Co commune recommends that all levels soon invest in a solid sea dike system, completely handling landslides so that people can feel secure at sea, stabilize their livelihoods and protect the local essential infrastructure.
