On December 22, Lao Dong news source reported that Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan has just agreed to relocate households affected by the Binh Dinh Province Coastal Road project, Cat Tien - Diem Van section through Phuoc Thang and Phuoc Hoa communes (Tuy Phuoc district).
Accordingly, the relocation of households in Phuoc Thang and Phuoc Hoa communes (Tuy Phuoc district) affected by the construction of Phuoc Thang 2 bridge, Phuoc Hoa bridge and overpass in Kim Dong village (recovered area of about 0.66 ha), under the coastal road project of Binh Dinh province, was carried out, according to the request of the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
The funding source for relocating households is used from the project's compensation, site clearance and resettlement support costs.
The Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Traffic Project Management Board to preside over and coordinate with relevant units and localities to carry out compensation procedures and support site clearance to relocate affected households.
According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Binh Dinh province, the coastal road project through Phuoc Thang commune includes the construction of 3 bridges. Of which, at the construction site of Phuoc Thang 2 bridge, 14 households have houses located within the flood drainage flow, at risk of being swept away by flood, threatening the property and lives of the people.
At the construction site of Phuoc Hoa bridge over Go Boi river and overpass in Kim Dong village, Phuoc Hoa commune, 10 households are at risk of being deeply flooded during flood season.
After consulting, households in the planned relocation area all agreed to move to the new residence.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Huynh Nam - Chairman of Tuy Phuoc District People's Committee said that according to the roadmap, the relocation of households affected by the Coastal Road project will be completed by early 2025.
